Software and Applications – Coding System that Instruct Devices to Perform Various Tasks

Software is a kind of coded information, data or instructions that can be sent to your computer, and when the same is received by your computer, it carries out the informed tasks according to the user’s wishes. The various types of commands rule the computer operations and rule all the other programs that are running on your computer at one given point of time.

Each and every program that is installed in your computer is prepared by some kind of coded material or information. The same is read out by the computer and it is later put into practice when the program demands it.

There are three kinds’ computer software programs:
1.  System Software :
This is commonly known as the operating system and it is a kind of software which is used by computer to convert as well as translate the inputs from different kinds of sources into the machine language. The operating system’s main task is organizing the computer’s hardware components. The system software also provides a protection shield to all other software application programs. Even the physical parts of the computer get the support with the help of operating system.

There are a variety of operating systems available nowadays. The Operating system of Windows is the most popular and has been a biggest achievement. There are loads of other operating systems such as UNIX, which is commonly used for huge office setups having powerful networking facility. The HP- UX, AIX, is used by the HP Computers. The Apache OS is very popular amongst the web servers.

2.  Application Software :
The application software programs are quite common and very popularly used type of computer software. The Application software includes the regular activities that are done in your computer. The best example of application Software is Microsoft Office Suite that covers PowerPoint, word, publisher and Excel. Many people use these options freely and can’t do without these software in Microsoft Office Suite.

With the help of Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, etc one can access the web world easily. The Outlook express is a kind of software which is widely used for management of emails. The basic characteristic of application software is most of them are with user friendly interface, of which often coded in Graphical User Interface method for easy usage .

3.  Programming Software :
The Programming software is used by specific category of people and is widely used by the programmers. Basically, programming language is the set of instructions that is given to the computer for creation of application software and the operating system. The basic tools that are use by Programming software include the linkers, interpreters, compilers, and the text editors.

The examples are C++, Java and Simlab. Java and PHP are the programming language software programs which are used for internet application. A new category of language is invented nowadays which is now used for mobile devices. These light weight languages are used for designing the mobile applications.

Basically all the Software works with the help of Programming language. This process has a kind of chain reaction and the chain starts by transfer of the command to the computer. Then the computer software will generate the Machine coding system and end the entire process.
